Why do peopls care so much which is the more inteligent of genders?

Their reasoning escapes me. Quite honestly, we, as humans, should be focussing on something less trivial than which gender is better.

@ Paul: Oh my goodness, 3-5 I.Q. points? Wow, you must be so much smarter than me, what with having 3-5 more I.Q. points than I. I've taken an I.Q. test before, and really half of it is simply good test-taking skills.

And if you're going to build up an argument, please use correct grammar. "If boys studied as good as girls..." should be "as well as girls." I also do not see a single capital letter in that whole paragraph.

Please think of a better argument next time.

I admire your bluntness. The fact is women, on average, very much dislike finishing second to men in any area. But they sure like to well up with pride when they finish first. If they don't, there are countless reasons why...glass ceiling, misogyny, overloaded with work...the list goes on and on.

Even the media gets on board with this slant...so as not to offend their sensibilities.

There is always an excuse when women do not excel over men...read some women's magazines some time...they really do think they are better at everything that is important...and its their job to train and teach us....lol...ridiculous yes...but NO amount of truth or logic will change their minds.

And similarly for this question...I don't care really...but I can tell you this..women could stand there all day long listening to somebody say they are more intelligent...but the crap hits the fan hard when they hear men are.

@Just Me...I agree with you, most of those posts are from men, boys probably...and I do not take them seriously. I don't subscribe to men or women being smarter...we each have our strengths. But try to take notice of what I say in my post. Notice the media's adoration of women and its vilification of men...there is a reason for this...there is a market for it. And yes...it often is a male owner or publisher...but it sells. And why does it sell? Because it is what women want to hear. I've sat in the dentist or doctor's office waiting room and read many women's magazines..I know it is the truth...sadly.

this idea is almost ALWAYS promoted by misogynist men- check the answers. they're trying to convince themselves of their superiority, which is a weakness in itself.

If you let women think they're as smart as us, people might start taking seriously all this nonsense about "Feelings are more important than logic!" and the black-is-white arguments they use when they don't want to admit they're wrong about anything.
