Relieved after miscarriage?

I had a miscarriage a month ago and brutal truth be told I couldn't have felt more relieved. I don't ever want kids but the birth control failed and that's how I got pregnant. But why is it that when a woman admits to not wanting children she gets branded as bad? Does it ever occur to anyone that not all women want to breed?

I think maybe the powers that be get it that you don't want children. I don't want kids either.Several people have looked at me in the eye like i am an axe murderer when I say that. It takes alot to be a mom and I don't think I have it in me. Also, I kind of like my life the way it is.

I'm happy for you that your pregnancy was ended in such a way that you didn't have to to worry about doing it chemically or surgically. I think a lot of criticism of women who don't want to be mothers comes from women who can't. Infertility causes a lot of resentment and, instead of resenting nature for their own infertility, many women chose to resent fertile women instead. I guess it's just easier to have a live, responsive target.

Don't beat yourself up, but I wouldn't go around advertising the fact. It's personal anyway, so keep it to yourself instead of inviting judgment.
