Tattoo Ideas for First Tattoo?
Normally, I'd like to come up with something myself, but I'm absolutely clueless as what to get.
I've been through a lot in my life; I'd like to get something to represent the fact that I've come such a long way and to inspire me to keep going.
For instance, I'm a really big fan of Sailor Moon, and when I looked up Sailor Moon tats, someone got one of SM transforming as it shows how she's transformed into who she is today. Well something like that lol.
I'd really like a design, not just words. Although both would be cool. I'm a HUGE fan of Evanescence, The Birthday Massacre, Paramore and Jeffree Star. So lyrics from songs of theirs would be cool too.
Also, I don't want anything depressing. Something cute, but inspirational. Tim Burton-ish.
I'm not asking for anyone to design a tattoo. Just skimming through ideas.
For you hardcore tattoo lovers, I'd really love and appreciate what you think I should do!

If you know the tattoo artist you plan on going to, you should really discuss all of this with them. They do a living getting ideas and creating beautiful works of art from those ideas! If you like lyrics from the songs, pick out your favorite! They should have no problem being able to combine all of your ideas into one big masterpiece.

Well if I were you I would wait until I found something I absolutely loved. Something from your heart- what do you love? What is your favorite thing in the world? now how can you represent that on skin with ink? and be sure you actually think you can stand the same image there indelibly inked into your skin forever- or at least till you have 10k to get it lasered off if you don't like it.
But I digress. Don't get anything anybody else wants you to get, get what you want.

Please, please, /don't/ get a sailor moon tattoo.
Cartoon/Anime tattoos are terrible. I always say live for the moment and do what you want when you want. But when it comes to cartoon tattoos, look to the future. You don't want to look like a complete nerdburger. A granny with a sailor moon tattoo? Think about it. As for the music tattoos, how about looking at some album art? You could always change it somehow.
One of my tattoos features the picture from the album cover of one of my favorite bands.
Whatever you get, I'm sure you'll love your first tattoo. My first tattoo is pretty bad, small and faded already, but I'll always love it because of its positive connotations with being my first. (:
