Why do all Morman elders in Britain have American accents?

An observation I have made; do they not recruit from local converts?

    I have noticed this.

We've had the Mormons pop round and they're always American.

very nice though and gave me a copy of the Book of Mormon which was nice, I'd always wanted to read it.

I have never met any British Mormons, there must be some I'm sure...!

Depends on the laws and rules for the country. If the country allows American Missionaries then you're going to get Missionaries that are American. Some countries don't allow American Mormon Missionaries and so you'll see more local and regional Missionaries.

""all Morman elders in Britain have American accents"" so we can tell them from the Jehovah's Witnesses.

Why are Mormon elders so young?

Why are they sent to Wales? That is definitely one country that does not need religious instruction!

Local converts and members are welcome to serve there as well. Its my understanding that there arent as many as in the states so whenever we go international, you're going to get a USA accent.

But anyone THERE who was willing and worthy to serve is just as able to. Maybe they're getting called to South America or Australia! Who knows....

usually the full-time mormon elder missionaries do not serve in their own area.....because being in your own area with your own family and friends around makes it difficult sometimes to focus on being a full-time missionary.

the missionaries who converted my dad to the LDS religion (who lived in utah) were canadian and italian.

I always understood it is something they have to do. As sort of "gap year" thing. It is quite funny seeing "Elder" Smith who is about 18.

Mormons need prayers, for example, the holy rosary, so they can know spiritual truths:
