What are some fun things to do in San Diego (clubs, beaches, lounging, arts, recreational, etc) ?
I'll be visiting during spring break and (weather permitting) what are some fun things to do down there on a warm sunny day?

I hope the weather permits you to do a lot of things. It's a bummer when you have all that time off school and it rains. So let's keep our fingers crossed for a Santa Ana condition to hit the southland.
Clubs: Two places to visit. Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach, that's the area west of Ingraham Street, where tons of other spring breaker's will be partying their brains out. It's strewn with many clubs and bars all within walking distance of each other.
The second area is the Gaslamp in downtown San Diego. Again just like the congregation of bars in Pacific Beach, but a little more classier or formal. The two areas are like comparing sandals to shoes.
Beaches: Pacific Beach and Mission Beach are connected by a long boardwalk which starts at Crystal Pier and runs to the South Mission Beach Jetty. It's about three miles. Rent a bicycle or bring your own and cruise the beach. There are many sunbathers along the route that may like to talk to you. You know your pickup lines better than I do. That whole stretch of beach is great to surf and swim in.
If you have a car go up to La Jolla by the Cove and visit the controversial Children's Pool. It's where the City, the Feds, the State, the Locals and the Seals have been fighting over a piece of billion dollar real estate for the right to call it theirs. A very nice place. Lots of casual lunch venues in the area with views of the ocean.
If you long for the geezerly-hippie crowd then you will love Ocean Beach. It's the Land That Time Forgot. For lounging I would get a hotel right along the boardwalk around Pacific Beach Drive and lounge by the pool. The Best Wester Blue Sea Lodge would be ideal for that.
Arts: You've got to go to Balboa Park and tour the museums. There are lots of artists in the area as well. It sort of reminds me of Central Park in NYC.
Recreational: DO SOMETHING!!! Go surfing or kayaking, Go out on a sportfishing boat for a half day or longer. It is so much fun. Take a Harbor Excursion around San Diego Bay. It's cheap fun and kills an hour or two.
Dining: Eat Mexican Food somewhere. It's the best in the USA.
Welcome to SD and have a great time.
