what does cbp stand for on a walther ppk gun?
I apologize for not adding details. This is not a toy, it is a .32 pistol. It has the Zella-Mehlis stamped on the side, sounds like it may be pre-war. I took it to a local gun collection shop, it began a bidding war, so I walked out with it. The CDP stamp is located on the opposite side of the Zella-Mehlis factory stamp. Maybe initials?
Sorry again. Initials are: CPD

Which Walter PPK? Exactly where on the gun?
Walther made pistols in Germany for a very, very long time. Then in the 1950's they started to franchise their desgin (kinda like McDonalds) to companies all over the world. Interarms made the PPK in the USA for a very long time - then Smith and Wesson started to make Walters back in 2002 or so.
You could probably write a book on all the different stampings and proof marks on all the different Walthers over the years.
Here is a link to the most common firearm tool marks and what they mean. If this does not help - go take a few digital pictures and come back with the same question - and post links to the pictures. This would be best.
Here's the link to the Firearm Toolmark Examiners - you want to click on the gallery.
