Question (s) about behavior?
I am easily startled and frightened and " jump out of my skin when I hear a loud noise or bang, have to get blood drawn, when I was young and got disciplined the sound of the snapping of the strap was harder than the actual "hit" itself.
My question is how do I not be as startled and nervous and jumpy and learn to be more calmer when unexpected or even the excepted things listed above happen?

If your hypersensitivity is really disruptive and upsetting, it might be worth seeking some cognitive therapy.
A self-help technique you could try is called EFT, emotional freedom techniques. Try searching EFT + anxiety on youtube. The technique involves lightly tapping on both sides at certain points on the body, with or without repeating an affirmation to yourself. One demonstration is by Eva Marklund at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vku0jPpOlt0.
A friend of mine swears by a book called Tapping In by Laurel Parnell (it also comes as an audio CD). You can look her up on youtube also.
There's also a technique called EMDR = Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, which has been successful for treating anxiety, traumas, and the like.

Your anxiety level seems high. Certain events from the past may have affected you, but hey there are people that get it worse, raped, actually beat up by their biological parents. Maybe finding out they main Reason of why this is happening to you, and rewiring your brain from there by thinking oh, that was 20 years ago.. I can move on. Our brains have so many components. Like a super computer with 10,0000galizzion processes! Its up to you to delete some pop ups and homeworks you've failed from 3 years ago! time to move onnnn. Good luck to you I hope you find your way.
