Was Frankenstein the first zombie?
My g/f and I disagree. I say yes and she says he was not a zombie. So which is it?

Zombies are dead.
The Frankenstein monster was alive.
It spoke, breathed, ate, drink, felt pain and emotions.

Well yes, frankenstein's monster would certainly qualify for a zombie, a bunch of body parts brought back to life with an electric bolt, then he moves around in a clumsy stupor. Sure seems like a zombie. You may not think of frankenstiens monster when you think of zombies but you cant argue that hes not a zombie. Even though he may not crave human flesh, he still qualifies. But i dont think he was the first zombie.

White Zombie 1932 was the first zombie movie, Frankenstein 1931 was not a zombie

Technically Frankenstein was the doctor who created the monster so Frankenstein was not a zombie, but Frankenstein's monster technically is a zombie because it is a reanimated corpse
