When did you pack for the hospital?

Well, we're at 33 weeks, and starting to get things at the house really put in line for whenever baby makes his appearance (I do NOT want to leave a dirty/disorganized house when I go to the hospital. lol).

Both my husband and I have a sneaking suspicion that our little one won't be waiting the whole 40 weeks to come, and while I'm certain it won't be for at least a few more weeks (no reason to believe otherwise, and really, we're 33 weeks... not too much of a chance of him coming this early), I'm just curious... when did you ladies (who've had children already) pack up for the hospital? It seems like overkill to be doing it up now... but then, I also don't want to be scrambling around in between contractions throwing things into a bag if he *does* decide he's done baking sooner than we're anticipating ;)

Forgive the first-time-mama over-preparation and slight paranoia.

I started throwing things in a bag after my first baby shower, which was when I was 7 months. A few things that I got at the shower. I really packed it about 6 weeks before he was born. And then I re-packed it probably ten times between then and when it was really time to go to the hospital. LOL!

I packed a separate bag for my baby with blankets, clothes, her 1st stuffed animal, etc when I was 35 weeks pregnant. I was waiting to pack my bag because I needed the clothes I would be packing up until the time I went to the hospital and then my water broke and I had nothing packed for myself or my fiance. I had no clean clothes so I had to end up throwing the cleanest stuff I had in a bag and I ended up not having what I needed but luckily I was only there for 24 hours after I gave birth. I would pack as soon as you feel like your ready to pack because if you put it off like me then you might end up with dirty clothes and nothing you really need.

I dont think anytime is too early, really. Its just one less thing you have to worry about getting together..Why not? With my daughter I started at about 35 weeks from what I remember..With this baby, I'm going to start packing at about 33 or 34 weeks pregnant..I feel at ease knowing that if the baby is early, Im prepared.

I packed my daughters bag when I was 32 weeks. I had no idea when she was coming (she turned out being almost two weeks late) but it just eased my worries knowing that it was done and ready with. I also took care of most of the setting up for her before my ninth month. It gave me something to do, and was a LOT easier after she came home.

I do not know how I got this. But your picture looks familure. I think you answered some horse questions in the late spring. In case that was you, the horse is doing fine. I finally convinced the owner to get a grazing muzzle. The horse enjoys being with the other horses other than being isolated with limited rations of hay. The horse got quite grouchy and chewed up his barn pretty good, then one day got out and wrecked some manicured landscaping. The founder gouge is nearly grown out. I still have him on biotime hoof supplement. He is arabian/fresiean blend, bay in color and is a full time brat. Thanks for your advice, and good luck with the pegnatcy. Hope all goes well. jim
