What's a good, free screen-capture software that's virus-free?

I've made an intro for a YouTube video on PowerPoint, and I would like to get it into my video-editor (Windows Live Movie Maker - yeah I know, cringe). I tried to download Windows Media Encoder 9, but I couldn't open it for some reason beyond my understanding.

Have you used any free screen-capture software that you know to be virus-free? Which is the best to use?

Thanks for the help

lx

Update:

Newton Campbell - it seems you hardly read my question. I would like a Screen-capture software, not a YouTube-video-creating software.

Thanks for trying, though.

I see that you are looking for a screen capture software, but in your case one might not be necessary. If you are using PowerPoint 2007 (or an older version) you can save each of your slides as an image and import them into Windows Movie Maker.

Unfortunately, if you have added any custom animation or slide transitions they will not import into Windows Movie Maker. Transitions can be re-added in WMM but the custom animation can not.

If you are using PowerPoint 2010 you can just save the presentation as a .wmv file and import it into Windows Movie Maker. In this case all of your custom animation and transitions would remain intact.

If you are still set on screen capture software, I would recommend downloading the free trial of Camtasia Studio 7 (http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia/). The software is not free, but the 30-day trial is. If this is the only time you will be doing such a thing, the trial may be all you need.

My Screen Recorder is one of the best screen recording tools. It is extremely easy to use, and creates standard AVI or Windows Media format files that work great with Windows Live Moviemakers.

You can download it here: http://www.deskshare.com/screen-recorder.aspx
