How did you decide to have (or not to have) more children?

If you have an only child why didn't you want more?

If you have more than one child, what made you decide to have more?

Thanks!

I come from a large family. I have more cousins than I can count and my immediate family was considered "small" at 4 children. I feel that my brothers and sister have only enriched my life and I cannot imagine one of them not being around. The 4 of us are very close and they are my best friends. My husband has one older sibling that he is not close with at all. He feels like an only child so to speak so he's been very enthusiastic about having 3 or 4 kids. I have never considered having anything less then 3 kids and we might go as high as 5. But for now we are at 2. We take things day by day and when my husband and I are feeling up (emotionally, physically and financially) to it we'll have another one.

Hello i'm currently 28 years old I have 3 very beautiful boys ages 3, 5, and 7. I decided to have children because I love my husband and I wanted to have babies the main reason why is because he has cancer and the doctor said he only had a few years to live estimated 3-5 years. So, we decided to go ahead and have children. I didnt want anymore children because of all the changing crying and feeding. All parts of being a mother eh? Take care hugs!

I only have 1 child right now, but my husband and I are currently trying for a 2nd child as we both don't want our son being an only child and we both just want more kids. We are planning for 3 or 4 kids.

I was an only child and turned out fabulously.

And after looking at my checkbook, the feet that grew a size (to an 11!) while pregnant, and remembering 2 years of no sleep and 18 years of legal liability, I thought 1 was good.

I have a girl and want a boy in the future. Now there's no guarantee that I'll get a boy but I want my daughter to have someone to grow up with. I would base it on your income too.

When I look at all the annoying kids in today's society, I think to myself, "Do I really want to be this miserable for the rest of my life?"

I was hoping for one of each gender, just so I could experience raising one of each gender.

    Got lucky, boy first..girl next..done.

We did want more but my wife has had about five miscarriages, there's something wrong and the doctor isn't sure what it is, so we just have one, but we tell her we stopped at perfection. :)
