What does, the internal battery has run dry mean?

I heard people asking about this and it got me a bit worried as ive never heard of it before? Does it only affect GBA games like Emerald or does it affect others like Pearl or Soulsilver? What causes it, how do you prevent it and what can you do to fix it?

I have all 3 of the above games and dont want anything to happen to my pokemon! Please help!

I've only seen that error message displayed for GBA games, so I don't think so...?

The DS has a rechargeable battery and you can plug it in and all, so any errors related to a battery probably wouldn't be for the DS. The last time I left my DS until it ran out of batteries, it just shut down and I had to plug it in to get it started again.

As for how to fix it and why it happens, I don't have a Gameboy, so I wouldn't know...but the term "run dry" often means "run out"...

It means that your system's battery has run out. This happens if a system was used for a very long amount of time.

It took about 10 years for my GBA's battery to run out.
