how can i get more sleep than usual?

at the moment i get, at most, about 4 hours sleep. apart from sleeping pills does anybody know how i can get my 8 hours?

    Go to bed early, don't work out or drink caffeine within three hours of going to bed but depends on person, something about not drinking milk before bed, lights cause the brain to think it's time to wake up

    Plan ahead and schedule an earlier time to go to sleep.
