What color should I paint my kitchen?

My appliances are black, my cabinets are a medium golden oak and the floor is a little darker oak. Currently the kitchen is a light yellow. I am removing part of a wall between my kitchen and dining room and my dining room is a dark cranberry. Counter tops will be replaced, not sure of color yet, likely natural neutral stone. Cannot decide on a color that won't clash with dining room and do not want kitchen the same color.

Hi! before you decide on any other color, please consider walnut wash. It is made by wal-mart, but it isn't cheap looking. It's a beautiful creamy taupe color that really compliments your dark cranberry dining room. I think you will love it!

A light green, like mint, sage or even spring green will bring out tones in the wood that you didn't even know were there. I did this with my kitchen and everyone loves it. Try painting a piece of cardboard or something about 4x4 so that you can hold it up to everything to see how it works. Cranberry makes these colors pop because they are on opposite sides of the color spectrum. My dining room is peach.
