Do you worry about teen parents?
I was just listening to a story on CNN about this one high school where 11% of the student body is either pregnant or already parents. To tell you the truth i'm glad that we don't live in that community. It worries me both for those teens and for their children.
Considering the fact that most children born to teens are raised in poverty and are raised by single parents, i'm concerned. I have a hard time seeing a bright future for the parents or the kids.

nah i wonder whats going on with the parents raising those teens. if that community is going threw that then that must mean that something is wrong with their parenting skills. the teens made their mistakes and are probable still being supported by their parents. the children are fine.until they grow up and go threw the same crap as their parents do.

Some yeah I do, the ones who have no idea what they are doing, but one of my best friends is a teen parent, she's 19 years old and has 3 kids; a 2.5 year old, and twin 1 year ODs, and she is pregnant with her 4th (she's due March 1st) and she is one of the best mothers I have ever met. Her and her husband (who is 20) are both great parents and they love their children very much and there children are great and very well taken care of and they are well behaved also.
A lot of teens don't know how to take care of kids, but there are some out there that make great parents, my friend and her husband seem like they were meant to be parents.

It really depends on the maturity of the teen. Your assuming that EVERY teen is a single parent and poor. Yeah, there are alot of those instances but theres plenty of adults that are poor and single parents too. It shows somewhat of irresponsibilty becoming pregnant at a young age, but taking care of your child and dealing with your mistake as best as you can is responsibility in my opinion. Everybody makes mistakes and it doesnt always have a negative effect.

I don't think it is the age that matter, i think it depend on how mature one is. (Im not saying its Ok for 14 year old to be having children)
I was 19 when i had my daughter, and I think I am a great mother. I am still with my daughters father and everything is going great.
Its the person in the end, any first time mum regardless of their age has a hard time for the beginning, but it is a life altering event. You see mothers who are 30 odd, had great childhood who neglect there children, abuse them and so forth.

Yes because they have no clue what they're doing. I see the pregnant teens smoking and doing drugs and simply not caring. When those kids are born they're going to be nothing but poor, useless souls and it will definitely increase the amount of homeless crackheads on the streets.

I really do, especially since not everyone learns from their mistakes. Some girls have children just so they can get benefits from the government. The more kids they have the more money they get, so they don't parent at all and might be using that money for just drugs or cigarettes instead of actually caring for their kids. Then their kids grow up wanting money so that they can get out of that place, and the cycle repeats. It is horrible. I think that you shouldn't be having sex unless you want a baby. I think that you should never abort your child. I think that if you can't give your child the best life possible then you should put it up for adoption.

As a senior in high school, I know rich or poor, teens can have access to condoms and birth control through free clinics and drugstores. Some clinics allow them to terminate their pregnancies, too. With the exception for rape, they have no one to blame but themselves for being in the situation they're in.

Some teens could probably make better parents than some adults can. Think about it

I dont judge teen parents, i know some teen parents who are better than adult parents. Its wrong to judge teen parents without knowing them personally.

It's not just that community that is impacted by the irresponsibility of those teenagers. The whole country is. That's the type of stuff that leads to people clamoring for a socialist state.
