  • What are the best roku channels?

We were thinking of getting rid of cable and just having roku. The problem is that most of the roku channels suck.

HBO Go and netflix are awesome. Amazon prime feels ok. Not great, but ok. We like a lot of old sitcoms, documentaries TV one, Bravo, OWN and the Food network. My kids love boomarang and lots of cartoons.

Can someone suggest some great roku channels?

    Thanks!

  • What was the name of this controversial art exhibit in the late 80's or early 90's?

Back in the late 80's or early 90's there was a controversial live art exhibit in a NYC Soho gallery. The exhibit featured several live (naked) couples making out while laying on American Flags. There was a male/female couple and two same sex couples (2 guys and 2 girls).

The artist and couples where featured on all of the popular talk shows of the day (Joan Rivers, Phil Donahue, etc).

It's driving me crazy that I can't remember the name of the exhibit or the artist.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

  • Can I ditch my 3G service from T-mobile?

I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab from T-moile. They were having a special and I got a really good deal. Most of the time when i'm using this comuter i'm at home on wifi. Can I just ditch the 3G service and keep the computer?

Nothing in the literature says that I have to keep the 3G service.

I will continue to use them for my cell phone but it doesn't make sense to me to pay for something i'm not using.

    Has anybody done this?

  • Should I go back to school?

    Here are the details:

I am a married mother of 3 young sons. I completed high school and went to college for 3 years.

I have always had good jobs and have 10+ years of experience in my field. I get good reviews at work and have never had a problem getting promoted.

The problem is that I feel like I "should" have a degree. Over the years I have taken classes from time to time but the will to finish college never lasts long. I have too much other stuff going on.

I was laid off a few years back and was able to find a new job in a short period of time. That made me think that the lack of a degree wasn't a big deal. My employer will pay for me to go to school so the money is not the issue. I just wonder if it is a good use of my time to pursue a degree that won't necessarily = career advancement. Espically since the degree would be pretty general and any specialized training is provided by my employer.

Does it make sense for me to go back to school?

    Thanks!

  • PLEASE HELP - How can I find this leak?

    First, a little background:

There is a spot in my yard that is ALWAYS wet with standing water and attracts mosquitos in the summer. So I dug up a 10 foot section and installed a drainage pipe.

    The problem:

While installing the pipe I noticed that there was water coming from a crack in my foundation about 6 inches below ground level. It's not a lot of water, but certainly a steady flow of clean/clear water.

    What I did:

I called the water company and they said that it was probably my problem. At their suggestion I checked my water meter. With all appliances in the house turned off the water meter is perfectly still.

    What do I do now?

  • Do you believe that the end of the world is near?

I saw a bus that said that the end of the world would be on May 21, 2011. And that judgement day would be in November (or December-I forget) of 2011. Do people actually believe that these things are true?

  • Do mormons ever serve missions in Salt Lake?

It seems like there are already so many mormons there, so I wonder - is there ever a time or circumstance where a young person would live at home and serve a mission during the day in the local community?

I was recently on a conference call that was recorded. The person who set up the call gave me the dial in number so that play back the recording.

How can I record this call so that I can listen to it back on my ipod.

    Thanks.

  • Another question about Mormons?

I seem to have lots of questions about mormons this week. Bear with me.

In researching this church there seems to be one common theme. People seem to constantly say things like "I know this church is true". Why is that?

There are LOTS of different religions out there and the membership just seems to go about their lives assuming that it's understood that their faith is true and valid. It's interesting to me that lds seem to constantly need to remind themselves and/or others that their faith is true.

I've heard it so much that it's made me question which one of us they're trying to convince.

Don't get me wrong. LDS seem like nice enough people. I get that they have some unorthodox practices. That's all fine. Scientologists have some unorthadox practices too. But they I've never heard them say "I know this is the true church". They just seem to go about doing what they do.

Why do lds seem to need to constantly reaffairm that their church is true?

  • Are there a lot of Black Mormons?

I think of Mormonism as being a very white religion. Are there a lot of black lds?

I would think that some people would have issues with the whole black men can't be priesthood holders thing. (I know that that was changed in 1978.)

  • What is the appeal of camping?

I LOVE all of the camping stuff. The ten the little stove and all of that. But the thought of actually sleeping outdoors on the ground - not so much.

For people who enjoy it, what it the appeal of pretending to be homeless?

  • What did you think about Oprah's comment about loosing her baby?

She was on Piers Morgan's show and she said that she was glad/relieved when she lost her baby at 14. She said that she didn't regret the loss of the child and it gave her a second chance at life.

I'm suprised that people were not up in arms about her statements.

  • Do you worry about teen parents?

I was just listening to a story on CNN about this one high school where 11% of the student body is either pregnant or already parents. To tell you the truth i'm glad that we don't live in that community. It worries me both for those teens and for their children.

Considering the fact that most children born to teens are raised in poverty and are raised by single parents, i'm concerned. I have a hard time seeing a bright future for the parents or the kids.

  • An ex lover wants to make amends - what can I expect?

10 years ago (prior to my marriage) I had a very long term affair with a married man. I loved him. He loved me, but the entire relationship was a mess. We agreed to end things and that was fine with me.

Later he and his wife divorced. I married another man and had kids. Over the past 5 or 6 years this ex and I have been friendly but nothing serious. He sent lots of business to my company which I greatly appreciated.

I always wanted to be his friend but doubted that that was possible. He says that he thinks of me as "the one who got away". In truth even if I was single I don't think I would partner with him. I'd sleep with him, but would not be willing to make a life with him.

He called the other day to set up a phone appointment with me. He says he wants to make amends. So far we have had 2 1-hour long phone conversations that were not really about anything. I felt like he was telling me some long (wandering) story that he never got to the end of.

Now we have a 3rd phone appointment for tomorrow night. He says that he wants to make his 9th step amends, but honestly I don't want to feel trapped on the phone with him. PLUS - it's been 10 years, i'm over it. Seems to me that he should be too.

    What is my responsibility here?

  • How can I find the right community?

My husband and I want to buy a second home in a warm part of the united states. We need some place that's a short flight from where we live now, has luxury high rise buildings and is on or near a waterfront.

Florida is probably our best bet, but i'm not sure.

Is there a website that will allow us to do a community search?
