Can I read ebooks on my computer with free software ?
I have a laptop with Windows 7 on it and as would love to know if it is possible to read ebooks on it or would I need a Kindle or something like that ? If I need software is it possible to get any free or extremely cheaply ?

You can read on your PC just fine. What software to use depends upon the format of the ebook. Is it PDF, Kindle, mobi, etc.

Sure you can read eBooks on your computer.
Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Borders all have free downloadable apps so you can then buy eBooks on their site, and then read them on your computer using the free app. See the link.
