I am not an Atheist. Just putting that out there.

I am, however, against the idea that there is only one soul creator of the universe. In any given scenario, I would still be unable to believe whole-heartedly in the Christian religion, or any religion for that matter. I've been to several different churches preaching several different types of religion, and I find bits and pieces that seem to be justified. But never one religion as a whole. No matter what scenario is thrown at me, I will refuse to believe that one religion is the correct religion. Like the people before me have said, if the Bible and/or God was proven to be real, how could I call myself a decent human being if I followed in the footsteps of a judgmental dictator? How could I praise a deity that kills and tortures because he doesn't like people enjoying, and expressing themselves? I do feel that those who are morally incorrect deserve to be judged according to their offenses, however I also feel that they should also get the opportunity to redeem themselves.

So, to answer your question, no. I would not become a Christian if everything was proven true. I would remain in my own beliefs. My belief in correct morals and being fulfilled by being an all around good person. Not fulfilled by a deity that creates disease, kills, and tortures.

The reason I am NOT a Christian is because research into "God" and the Bible have led me to conclude that they are man-made inventions and therefore fraudulent.

I don't think that there is any other god more absurdly imagined than the one depicted in the Bible. An anthropomorphic god like the abrahamic god is impossible, because no true omnipotent unknowable being could have so many HUMAN traits - many of them malevolent, sadistic, and egomaniacal. You don't worship a despot, you FEAR him!

Add to this absurdity the insistence that this god is "all-loving" yet creates a place of eternal torture, and no one in their RIGHT MIND could accept this deity as the "only true god."

Only fools believe in God and that the Bible is this deity's inspired word. Alas, there are still billions of them, unfortunately.

Um what parts? The bible is fairly accurate historically since it was written by people actually in the time.

As for the actual religious parts of the bible, those wont be proven.

If you could prove to me that 2000 years a jewish carpenter walked on water, healed the blind, turned water to wine, was the son of god, and rose from the dead, then yea i would be a christian.

But you cant and never could. besides, doesnt believing once the facts have been presented defeat the whole idea of faith.

    "Realized"? Or believed?

Hmm. Well, the Bible has a lot of messages that aren't supposed to be interpreted literally, so I don't think it would be that those were true. BUT if they were, then yes I suppose. If I believed it all, why wouldn't I?

If I just realized all the physical events of the bible were true, and God existed, then no. I would still be Buddhist.

No. Even if you were able to prove the existence of god, and prove that god wanted us to follow the teachings of the bible I would still not convert.

If the bible were true, and god was real then...

Your god kills people he disagrees with, and then sentences them to hell for an eternity.

    Your god created diseases.

Your god flooded the planet killing every human/animal because he didn't like them.

Your god is worse than Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and every other murderous dictator combined.

Your god is not good in any sense of the word. Gods who murder people, are no better than people who murder people.

I would never worship a god that openly admits to killing people or sentencing them to an eternity of suffering, because they are gay, committed adultery, are gluttonous, blasphemous, committed fornication, or a very long list of other stupid reasons.

    Your god is an asshole.

I do not follow ideologies that kill. Sorry.

    Thankfully, YOUR GOD ISN'T REAL.

You'd have to show me proof that any of it is true, which you never will be able to. So this question is pointless. Even if you could, I wouldn't identify myself as a Christian. Religion is a cult at it's core. Your people believe that god will come down from the heavens one day and leave me to burn in hell because I don't believe in his existence. I think I'll stay out of that.

If I thought that God was real and the Bible is true, obviously I'd be a Christian. That's what a Christian is.

  • If it was proven that the Bible and the deity spoken of therein is real, yes I would believe. But would still rather not go to heaven. I would not want to be the roomate of such a crappy god. What does the person who believes that believing in Jesus will get you to heaven, but still does not want to go? And is a good person?

    Nope.

I will never realize the Bible or God as true unless it is somehow PROVEN.

The given scenario does not say it is proven.
