what is the real name of a M 1 garand clip?
This is driving me nut I have been firing this weapon since I was a kid and my grandfather made me learn the parts of ALL out guns as we cleaned them. Its not en bloc or just clip its a weird name i wanna say it is french sounding but i just cant think of it please help i will loose sleep over this it is driving me nuts
i added all the extra info to be really clear they have another name that was what they were called at the time of production any gun show type that is into ww2 will know it tomorrow i will call my uncle and let you guys know it was the name they used in saving private ryan and Speilburg being a jew that likes ww2 he went out of his way to be accurate thanks for trying though guys

The owner's manual specifically calls it a cartridge clip.

The are called clips.
Scoob is right in that the type of clip they are is "en bloc". Thats french sounding isn't it?

please take note that there was NO "owners manual" during their Active time of US military issuance. also note that the "clip" was a completely different military issued item. They didn't come attached to a weapon. they are a separate item to be ordered through the supply guys.

It is called a clip en bloc. en bloc is french for lump or block as in altogether

It is an en bloc clip but I believe the word you are looking for is bandoleer.

Clip may be an old Hollywood name, sounds familiar to me. Magazine is a name for larger "clips" and newer.
