what 4 bolts pls? Tojo Diesel Injector timing?
2L-T toyota diesel instructions for L series diesel motor: The service manual says to loosen the injector lines at the pump, undo 4 bolts and the 2 nuts, and rock the pump to adjust the timing. I can't find 4 bolts anywhere which will allow movement-do I just ignore that part of the reference and proceed with caution? Should I loosen the pipe clamps on the inlet manifold? Someone please clear the waters.
there are no 4 bolts anywhere-except the distributing cover on the back, and they aren't in slotted holes. I would think it unusual to loosen them. I know my pump is over advanced because of the VERY loud knocking after a belt replacement on a known good motor, (none unless it's firing) & I'm hoping I don't HAVE to pull the covers off to hop the belt a tooth. A few degrees retarding should get it. Precision is not required, just tollerable running. I don't think there's room to set the timing with an ordinary vernier depth gauge, tho' I don't guarantee that.

Bolts are probably under front cover of engine. I personally don't recommend you mess with it, take to a pro. seeing if you mess up can cause internal engine problems.
