Do you think the Laffer Curve is credible?
If so, are or any group above the Apex, or are all below the apex of the curve?

The Laffer curve basically says higher tax rates don't necessarily turn into more revenue for the treasury because people aren't pawns. They dodge taxes. Plus high taxes in general hurt economic growth, which makes us all poorer.
Bottom line: We're over taxed, and it's evident because every time rates are cut revenue to the treasury goes up.

Of course it is. At 100% taxation it gives no incentive to work thus no revenue. However, rate of taxation is not the issue. The issue is the government's need of revenue. The current size of government is unsustainable because there will never be enough revenue to support it. We can see that in the rising debt and rising unemployment and bankruptcy of the states. Some 40% of the nation live in part or wholly off the public treasury.
Currently government represents 62% of GDP. That's unsustainable. Canada at it's height was at 68% until they shut down a large portion of federal government and now they are at 20% and are prosperous.
And as you can see from your leftist respondents, they don't phucking get it. The size of government under Eisenhower was the size of an amoeba as compared to the current government. And cost of goods because of less taxation and regulation was far lower making everyone appear more prosperous.

There is a lot of truth to the curve, however it is currently irrelevant.
Taxes were much higher a few decades ago and the economy was absolutely booming; current tax rates are at a 40 year low, and Obama just extended the Bush tax cuts.

America under Eisenhower - 91 percent top tier tax rate - America at it's zenith
America under Bush / Obama - Taxes at historic lows - America kisses China's *** at state dinner, reminding world we are on our way DOWN.
