How does one combat the pain in the finger tips after blood testing for diabetes?
I was recently diagnosed with diabetes. The pain in my fingers is aggravating from the testing given the fact that my fingers are not strong to start with due to hand problems that limit my typing ability and my carpal tunnel problem. Thank you all that answers in advance.

Be sure you are using the sides of your fingers and not directly on the pads or tips of your fingers. The sides are less sensitive than the middle. And be sure you are rotating through your fingers and using both sides to try to give the previous spot a chance to heal.
Also check that your lancet is set to the lowest setting needed to get a sample. I have mine all the way on the lowest but the typically come with it set in the middle somewhere.
You might want to look into alternate site testing too, A lot of meters are now equipped to take a blood sample from the arm or palm which would give your fingers another break.

Through time the skin on your fingers will toughen and that itself lessens the pain from testing. I remember my fingertips being a lot more sensitive when I was first diagnosed with diabetes. Now I hardly feel a thing, in fact sometimes I have to make a couple of attempts to get blood. But just what the others have said, move the spot you test from around to give previous spots a chance to heal. It does get less painful with time.

Any cut is going to hurt in the digitals so when taking blood test use your fore arm the fleshy part not the underside
And I use the Freestyle freedom lite, a little dot is enough, don t need to bleed to death to get a sample

Use alternate sites like your forearms or palms. Use the sides of your fingers not the tips.
Sadly, there's nothing to completely eliminate the pain
