Why does God care if we believe him or not?

Why is being a good person not enough?

Why child-molesting priests who repent go to Heaven, and 70% of the world go to hell for not accepting Christ?

Why?

Please take this time to explain how someone can be a "good person" when Jesus stated plainly that there is no one good; not one.

If you say that you do not believe Him then you have called Him a liar.

You sin grievously calling Jesus Christ God the eternal Son a liar.

Think long and hard on this - perhaps for the first time in your life.

Forgiveness is what God does. He is not so much interested in what you do, as in your complete obedience of Him. So if you repent, you therefore agree to obey his rules.

Why does a person molest a child? Do you walk in his shoes, and know his every moment of life? Perhaps, he too was molested by a guardian parent or uncle or someone. And his life was messed up.

Who can say why a person does anything? Why do some believe and others don't? Who is wrong?

Why do you NOT believe? Something in your life, since a tiny baby, has brought you to this point and so you do and think the way you do.

Hitler was a Christian, went to church, and even was going to be a painter. He loved to draw and paint. But something changed his way of life. He was not always as ruthless as he ended up being.

So, can you honestly condemn him? Only God can do that. Not us.

So a priest, one man out of thousands of other non priests, molests a child, and he is worse then the others, because of it. Unless we can walk in his shoes, we cannot condemn this man.

No where does it say 70% will perish. This is God's decision, not man's, and yet, we make up HIS mind for him. We tend to put God's mind on our level of thinking and judging, and so, using those measures, yes, everyone is doomed.

Let us for once, put God into a God's position, and that is, the position of one who is a God, and not a human. Other wise, HE would not be a GOD!! And let HIM therefore judge us, not let us judge ourselves.

For we can't even think alike, much less get along with each other.

I can't speak for God, on whether HE cares if we believe or not. I am not HIM. I can only hope that people want to care enough about HIM to make every effort to make it possible to be with HIM.

But I do think that people need to quit downsizing HIM, bringing HIM down to their standards and then expecting HIM to be Great, while working at our levels. It can't happen.

Where are you getting your information?

Man will never truly know what is out there until their time comes. That is why this subject is so controversial. There is no proof, there can never be any proof, and that is why it is called faith.

Different churches, people, and religions have different beliefs. The reason why there are so many different churches for Christianity is because everyone interprets the bible differently. We have no idea how God judges or why he judges as he does. We have no proof that a child molester would go to heaven if he repented or if good people who don't accept Christ will go to hell.

It's just one of those things we will never truly know in this life.

Source(s): hope I have answered some questions and please do not generalize all Christians to be the same. There are some nice ones out there. ;)

The whole thing just seems like a joke and a vain failure to me.

You see, the religious people — most of them — really think this planet is an experiment. That's what their beliefs come down to. Some god or other is always fixing and poking, messing around with tradesmen's wives, giving tablets on mountains, commanding you to mutilate your children, telling people what words they can say and what words they can't say, making people feel guilty about enjoying themselves, and like that. Why can't the gods leave well enough alone? All this intervention speaks of incompetence. If God didn't want Lot's wife to look back, why didn't he make her obedient, so she'd do what her husband told her? Or if he hadn't made Lot such an egghead, maybe she would've listened to him more. If God is omnipotent and omniscient, why didn't he start the universe out in the first place so it would come out the way he wants? Why's he constantly repairing and complaining? No, there's one thing the Bible makes clear: The biblical God is a sloppy manufacturer. He's not good at design, he's not good at execution. He'd be out of business if there was any competition.

He cares because if we believe in him, we can love him like a parents with a child. Also, hell is not existant according to the Bible. People die and go to the same place, which is nowhere. Ecclesiastes 9:5- "For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten."

Molestors are not approved of by God. 2 Timothy 3:1-7 says: "3 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away. 6 For from these arise those men who slyly work their way into households and lead as their captives weak women loaded down with sins, led by various desires, 7 always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth."

He talks really badly about them! He does not approve.

I presume you are asking why being good is not good enough to get you into heaven. Let me draw you a picture. You build a mansion to live in with your family. The yard man knocks on your door & wants to move in. Then a stranger walking down the road stops & knocks on your door & wants to move in. Then the kids who knocked over your mail box knock on your door & apologize for their bad deed & they pledge their lives to you & to doing your will. You take this one in & make him a part of your family. Why didn't you allow the yard man & the stranger walking down the road to move in with you ? Because you don't know them. Jesus is the only way to get into heaven. If you do not accept him, you will not live in His Fathers house. By accepting Jesus as your savior, you are a new creature & you are part of the family. I don't care how good the yard man is & how good a job he does in the yard. He's not my family, I don't know him & he's not moving in with me. So why should God be any different ?

Gods do not exist. The religious cults who want you to believe that gods exist, use belief as a way of frightening and terrorizing people. If a god existed, there would be no need for "belief," it would be obvious to everyone. Belief is a human way of getting people to follow something that cannot be shown to be true.

This is according to Christianity. Other religions think being good is enough

  • 1 decade ago

Because Jesus is God in flesh and He made us because He delighted in making us. Jesus came to be our sacrifice. That is why we must repent to Jesus or we are just walking around needing a sacrifice. We CAN'T be good enough! There is no way to be that good.

You're certain of all of this? Must be nice to be certain about something. I am certain that God exists. Have proven it to myself over a period of 64 years. Are you looking for justification not to believe? You don't need that. If you don't want to believe, just don't believe. Try not to be surprised, however, if one day you are really surprised.
