Can a 2002 Jeep Liberty run on regular?
Premium gas prices are getting really high in my country, bout $0.20 more than Regular.
Do I have to modify something in the engine or is it something that can't be done?
Even if it can be done without any modifications, will it reduce the life span of the car?

Because you say "in my country" - are you somewhere outside the US? Possibly someplace where the term "regular" gasoline refers to the US-obsolete leaded formulations, and Premium means what we call unleaded? If that's the case, then no, you cannot run lead formula fuel in a vehicle meant for unleaded safely. Doing so will very quickly destroy the catalytic converter, causing the emissions to become highly toxic and destroying other engine components.
If that's not the case, then no, there's no problem, in fact running high octane unleaded (premium) is a waste of money in a jeep liberty.

If a vehicle recommends a premium or higher quality fuel from factory it is best to just stick with it. It might run on a lower quality fuel but it will not run as well and it will be hard on the vehicle. To answer your question simply: it will shorten the life of the car. Anyways, hope I helped
