Do you think it's unfair that an event like the 2012 Olympics will be played on a surface such as grass?

Considering not everyone is good on grass or even clay. Most tennis players grew up and practice on a hard court. Doesn't putting the event on grass give certain players an advantage? And will be detrimental for A LOT more other players in contrast to a hard court.

Thoughts?

Update:

C*nt?

Update 2:

Exactly!, I agree. ALL good players should be able to play in all different surfaces. So why does everyone always use the excuse "The only reason why Rafa has a winning record against Federer is because it's all on clay".

Yes, I think its unfair. The playing of tennis on grass should be forbidden because as a spectator its awfull to watch. No rallies whatsoever.

Clearly it should always be played on clay ;-)

good tennis players and particularly those of olympic standards should be able to play on all different court surfaces. if they are worth anything they will practice on grass courts if that is what they will be. the courts should not make a difference however i do tend to agree that some perform better on grass than others but then of course the reverse could occur.

    all countries have different surfaces.

Absolutely not.England is a very traditional country and it was expected that they would choose grass.Besides, tennis was first played on grass. Why change the tradition if you don't have to?All the greatest athletes play well on grass-Federer,Nadal,Navratilova,Sampras,Graf etc...All of the players who can't play on grass are just not good enough.I think the surface definitely favors Nadal,Federer,Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.Hopefully they will all win medals at the Olympics in 2012.

Well @ most Olympics the tennis is played on hard-courts and future Olympics wil b played mostly on hard-court, so if this one is on grass then y not,

    no.

if it was on a hardcourt some other players had an advantage.if you think like that in every surface it is unfair to a player.
