Why is Obama supporting protestors in Egypt?

While giving the Egyptian government that the people are protesting over $1.5 billion per year in US foreign aid, second only to Israel? http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/politics/us-foreig...

Walking a fine line here..we want to be on the right side of history, which is to allow them to throw out Mubarek and form a real democracy, but we also need to protect our own interests, which is Suez Canal access and political stability in the region. Mubarek is now fulfilling those needs in exchange for the aid. The same deal needs to be made with whatever government comes to power after this.

As of now the present government is am ally and the protester are not an enemy of the United State ..Since the United state is neutral' to these proceeding its best that they support both side

He's not, but are you saying that you support Mubarek? Why, do you hate democracy?

The 1.3 billion we have given in military aid annually is yet another example of the US propping up a dictator for short-term gain. Once again, in the long run we will have pissed off a nation and yet again, in the long run our guns will end up being pointed at us.

And BTW, Obama was 19 years old when we began our 30 year policy of supporting Mubarek.

If he supports the leader he is supporting a man who has not given up power since 1981 and generally brought the people down with his bad policies. If America had the same wouldn't you want people to support you as you topple the government?

After all, those tear-gas cannisters were made in America.

Obama doesn't support democracy. If he did, he'd back up the protestors and lead them to a road of prosperity and a better life. Oh wait..

The US has been doing that for 30 years. Bush would have sent the military to squash the protesters by now.
