How are we to live right with these age blocks?

So my friend and I are not allowed to date because our parents believe we are too young. We are 14. We do not want to go behind their backs and we want to do this right, neither of us wants to mess anything up. We are also not allowed to be alone, so we can't even hold hands for more than the five seconds we get without eyes on us. Our parents say that they trust us and that we are the most mature 14 year olds they know and such, but they say that us being alone presents too much temptation and that we are too young to date.

My friend and I are both Christians so we often ask each other questions regarding our faith. Today we were wondering about the sinfulness of masturbation. Upon researching what the Bible had to say about this I found that there was no specific information although it was not recommended and many sites mentioned that masturbation often involves porn or other sexual fantasies, which the Bible does classify as a sin. All of the sites that I visited said that if you are masturbating then you should marry, because Paul said that one should not burn with such desire. These sites said that masturbation was the replacement for a partner.

No we do not masturbate, but we do have sexual desires and we do not want to be driven to masturbation. The solution is to be marriage, but we are classified as too young. What do we do, our beliefs are very important to us, so please don't ask us to go against them, no haters please.

There is no citation in the Bible against masturbation. As you rightly pointed out it is the visual stimulation that is often used to masturbate, that is the sin. That nonsense about needing to be married as an alternative to masturbation sounds like an extremist view. Don't pay it any mind. You know that sex with another outside of marriage is a sin.

You need to cultivate other interests, to turn to during difficult times. My own would be the Bible, but I suspect that you're already reading it. Your parents are undoubtedly worried because of all of the stories in the media these days about teen pregnancies, teen drug addiction, teens texting while driving, and other potentially dangerous activities. Try to understand what they're feeling and talk with them as often as you feel comfortable doing so.

dreamstuff, if it doesn't harm others it's fine? What about if it harms the person doing it? These girls are looking for a religious answer, not an atheists.

I think if you don't want to masturbate, then don't. This will certainly be a test of your faith, and will build character in both of you, as you will learn how to handle yourselves in a situation where you are really wanting something.

Again, the choice is yours, and I do not think masturbation is a bad thing when it isn't done when thinking of another person (because it's an invasion of the other persons privacy). Also, it's creepy to think of someone else, they may not like it if they found out.

The only immoral actions are those which harm others.

    Knock yourself out.
