Can guys be friends with a girl? with no motives or intentions behind the friendship?
Me and a friend were having a discussion.
My friend claims that guys (straight guys) cannot just be friends with a girl that there are some motives, thoughts or desires behind the friendship.
My point is guys (straight guys) can be friends with girls, because there are some cases where a guy and girl may have grown up together and have known each other since childhood. He treats her like a kid sister but respects her and loves her as he would his own sister, or girl cousin.
What are your thoughts? Opinions? or experiences?

In my experience, no, guys can't. My guy friends freely admit that they're only friends with girls they find attractive, because they hope to one day sleep with them or date them. And all of them have hit on me at one point or another.

Well, sometimes. It depends on how long they've been friends, and how strong the friendship is. Most guys, always have motives, but there are always those guys who just want to be your friend. They're hard to find, but they're there (:

i definitely believe that guys (straight guys) can just be friends with girls. I have a bunch of guy friends where i know there will never be nothing between us and they feel the same way. were just friends

I used to think so, until I found out that many guys are unwilling to stay in the friendzone.
