meow mix wholesome goodness discontinued alternatives?
I can't find this anywhere in KC, so finally i was told that it was most likely pulled from the selves as a manfacturers discontuniance. Well that is all good and fine for most kitties but my cat LOVES the stuff and it's all she'll eat literally she can be starving and we feed her something else she'll take three bites and she's done. We've tried other brands fancy feast whiskas nothing idk what to do. And yes i do know about the reviews of meox mix and how unhealthy it is for your cat so don't tell me about it here not the time or the place. Just answer my question and save me a trip to the vet.

The Wholesome Goodness line from Meow Mix has definitely been discontinued, and if it's gone from your local store, it's GONE.
A lot of people assume that because it is from Meow Mix brand, it is bad. I actually think that was a really good cat food . Read the ingredients (if you can find it anywhere), and you'll see it has no wheat gluten, grains, corn, or other filler agents which can cause allergic reactions in a lot of cats. The first ingredient was always actual Chicken or Turkey or Fish, and you could SEE that it was actual meat that flaked. Not to mention, it was reasonably priced for what you got compared to other "boutique" brands.
I also noticed today at Petco that several other brands had Chicken flavors which were also being discontinued:
1. Fancy Feast Chicken appetizer (the expensive little plastic dishes)
2. Two chicken-style flavors of Soulistic pouches
3. Petite Cuisine Chicken Pot Pie flavor -- (my cats HATE the sesame chicken one and wont eat it -- it smells too spicy to me, so i don't blame them. Heck, one of the ingredients is PAPRIKA ... come on, really? this is a CAT)
Maybe it got too costly to do this, and everyone ditched the idea all at the same time? Or maybe there's something wrong with the chicken they were using -- has anyone heard anything?
These brands were what WAS going to replace the now-discontinued MMWG, but now THEY'RE ALSO discontinued, so I'm really not sure what to do! My cats don't like pate so I'm really struggling to find something chunky or flaky, from a land-dwelling animal, without grain or wheat gluten, and that isn't going to cost an arm and a leg.
By the way, if your cat throws up a lot, it's could very well be because it's allergic to some of the bad stuff in its food. It eternally pisses me off that a lot of veterinarians suggest Science Diet. Cat food should not have any wheat gluten, corn, corn gluten, corn starch, or anything that sounds like those. It's in all the low-cost foods because it's cheap, but these can have negative side-effects on your cats quality of life.

I understand that cost of food can be a big issue! But if you go to the pet store, you can get some healthier alternatives that aren't much more (and may save you money down the road by having a healthier kitty!). Look at Nutro's Natural Choice or their Max Cat line. Or if you have a Petsmart, their Authority brand is inexpensive and much better than any of the grocery store foods. Pro Plan is another one that's not bad. Corn, but no by-products. Greenies are a treat you can get in the grocery store, and they are made with wholesome ingredients instead of by-products.

You cat, like a recalcitrant child, will eat what she is offered when she is hungry enough. I wouldn't worry about it.
Stay away from fish either in cat food or people food. Cat food manufacturers use fish byproducts which are concentrated toxins including mercury. These cause numerous problems, but primarily hyperthyroidism in cats.
By the way, Petco, Amazon and Walmart all have Meow Mix Wholesome Goodness.

I am going to go out on a limb and say this. If you are in Kansas City Kansas you can find it at Wal-mart, petco and a bunch of other places.
It has not been discontinued.
