what is your favourite Japanese horror movie?
I love Japanese horrors, and I just was wondering which one you like best? Either in Japanese or an English version is fine! :D

The Ring (Hollywood version), I like it more than our version. It's not as "comical" as ours and I like it's theme. It's also very mysterious on why Samara acted very strange and was killed.
For gore movies, I like "1 Koroshiya Ichi" or Ichi the Killer in translation. I'm a big fan of the manga of it so I was excited to watch the movie of it. I did not get disappointed by it's film adaptation.

I got 2
Battle Royal, while not stricly a horror, is so violent and bloody yet such a good film (but only the 1st one, the sequel is rubbish)
And then The grudge, the American remake, which I thought was surprisingly superior to the Japanese one, and I love the way they kept the action in Tokyo. Again, avoid the pointless sequels

Battle Royale 1, I love the body count updates. Although I did see an old black and white Japanese "horror" movie one time and it wasn't until towards the end it dawned on me it was Shakespeare's Macbeth shifted from Medieval Europe to Samurai Japan. Quite spectacular the way "Macbeth" gets his at the end.
