The vet shaved my dogs *** without permission?

I have been paying my vet 22 bucks per month to express my Shih Tzu, paying double to have it done right. After five years and some little problems with the staff's attitude, they hand me my 5 year old dog with his hair shaved off his whole backside. I never shaved or cut one hair one his body his WHOLE LIFE keep him all original, making it easy to groom the original baby soft hair. He once had a beautiful long silky skirt that would swish back and forth, it brought me endless joy, and his poop would tumble through the natural soft hair like little presents for the ground, NOW all I see is his anus, and this brown streak of pigment changed skin, it looks horrible, I walk him two to three hours daily and all I see is his shaved *** constantly reminding me that he is not the same, wondering why they did this to him, he sits down where he used to stand and sniff the air, he is freaked out. On the coldest day of the year, zip, it's gone. It may grow back, but it will not be the same if, I say if it even does grow back, it will be different it will be course and thicker, unlike the rest of my show quality boy dog.

And I have seen this before, now that its courser hair, the poop wont naturally drop through, it gets stuck now, I have to pick poop out of the choppy stubble. It's such a night mare. Yes I tried calling and see what happened," were sorry, we don't know what happened, we will call you back about this,,,yada yada no call. No call! My dog is my life right now, he is a comfort dog (911 survivor ptsd) I take home to children orphanages because he looks like an ewok and or a toy, well , from the front he does now, but, the butt is exposed .

If you brought your car in to get an oil change and they removed your original paint from the rear of your car, is that not the same thing if not worse.

I want to sue them out of principal.

Update:

so , they screw up, and that's it? Sorry,!!?

so, who here has a f- dog ? is that what you would do? You bring your dog in for something other that, just have his *** shaved, and you walk out with your tail betwixt you legs like some kind of moron, and not do anything . ((((((its my dog, its my property, if it does grow back it will be a year min, more like three years. 22 bucks per month for five years! , Trusting them. Paying them top dollar, and your all like , oh well, well, sorry, if they called back and offered anything at all, or even if the dr. Called me and said, whatever.. nothing!!!!, its disrespectful to me as a customer!!! so I am gonna sue, so bite me..

.

First of all, I think this is a TROLL question. Second, the hair will neither grow back "course" as you spelled it nor COARSE (the correct spelling); it will be exactly the same as the rest of him. It is considered a "sanitary trim" to clip the fur from around the anus and more is clipped off if the dog is dirty with feces caught in the coat, if there are mats, etc. Maybe you hadn't checked back there in a while? Anyway, calm down. It grows back quickly, and your dog isn't suffering.

If the dog is acting differently since the clipping, it could be because he is now more comfortable. Or it could be due to the fact that YOU are treating him differently. No one is forcing you to stare at your dog's anus. That is entirely your choice. Most of us prefer to look at other things.

You can sue but you will lose and you will waste your money in the process. You have no legal damages.

It is easy to learn how to express anal sacs. You could have save $22 per month all these years, or paid a groomer to do it for less than half that amount. The groomers I know charge $7.

Oops. Looks like you bit yourself.

It is standard business practice at a local veterinary practice or veterinary referral hospital to ask a client to sign a consent form that lists everything to be undertaken to treat the dog. In the absence of this hard evidence of what was agreed to, the veterinary practice would only have the information held on computer which should say why the dog was being admitted for surgery. If the dog had been admitted for major surgery on a broken leg & nothing beyond that: 1. Whoever admitted the dog failed to obtain a signed consent form which was bad practice. 2. The staff then made a second mistake by carrying out an unwanted procedure. 3. The veterinary practice will have no proof held on computer that the dog was admitted to have surgery on its leg & castration. 4. Obtain legal advice, as you should not have to pay for a procedure you did not want or agree to.

Get over yourself. While I don't agree with what the vet clinic did, you are free to go find a new groomer or clinic to take care of your dog. That's the beauty of there being so many dog businesses around these days.

The hair will grow back on your dog and it will grow back the same as it was. If you shaved your head it would come back the same. It's not like shaving your beard or something like that where it does get coarse. My dogs were shaved to the skin for surgeries over large portions of their body. Their fur all grew back as normal.

Tell everyone in your town not to use that vet anymore, but this is not a suing matter and it's not like they nuetered your dog without your permission. Geez!

Honey his butt hair is going to grow back, and if the hair is a little coarser, then have the groomer put some conditioner on it. No court in the land is going to give you $$ for a dog's shaved boodinky. Now relax. Go have a martini or something.

    sue them for what?

for shaving a coat that will grow back in. You did not suffer any loss other than waiting on hair to grow back. He no longer has a puppy coat either- that fell out long ago when the adult coat will grow back in.

You cant compare it to getting your car serviced. If someone did damages to your car while servicing it, you can sue for the cost to repair it..

but there's NO cost on your part.. you have nothing to sue over. The case would be thrown out of court, and you'd have insulted a judge for wasting her time over something so silly.

    Shaved Dogs ***

Its obvious you are upset but the chances of you winning a court case is next to zero. It is hair and it grows back so there is not "damage" done. there is no monetary loss to you either. To be honest I think you may be over reacting just a little bit.

Source(s): If you want to waste your money trying to sue go ahead. This is a dog site all of us have dogs.

Sue them? for what? They shaved your dog...get over it.

I think you went alittle over the top with this one..his poop would tumble through his hair like little presents??

I don't care how it came out, or how sweetly you wrap it..poop is poop...

I'll give you a c+ for trying tho...
