At what age did your child ...

    my little girl is three knows her abc's song knows some letters and can write a few of them as far as words not there just yet but all kids do things at a diff pace we started by singing song and pointing at the letters making it a fun game then started with writing them i do one she and she does it next to mine just make it fun and they will do it

    My sisters daughter knew some of her ABC's at 1 then know them all 2 read their first word 3

    I have four daughters.

    They all developed these and other milestones at different ages.

    I taught them their ABC as a song so they knew the alphabet long before

    they understood.

    Recognising different shapes and colours using baby jigsaws seemed to work well.

    Alphabet fridge magnets are great but you need more than one set because

    there are never enough of some letters.

    Don't stick to just childrens books. You can read cereal packets to them at breakfast time!

    e.g Rice Krispies- Snap, Crackle and Pop. get them to recognise the first letters.

    Mine all managed to read and write their name by the age of three.

    Don't forget numbers and counting too!

    1,2,and 3 were all during age 2!

    talked to him, practiced with him, was repetitive with it, made learning it fun.

    he turns 3 tomorrow and know his shapes (square, triangle circle, rectangle, crescent, heart, diamond), counts in english to 15, counts in spanish to 5 (to ten with help), his alphabet, and his colors.

    constantly spoke to them when she was a baby and always told her what everything was and is including when i was pregnant
