Why does God want you to kill people who work on Sundays (Exodus 35:2)?
You can't just throw out the bible verses that don't make sense. The bible is the word of God. He wants you to kill people who work on Sundays.
Exodus 35:2 (King James Version)
Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.
Okay Saturdays then

Agreed. Here are things that the Bible teaches about this instruction that YOU have "thrown out".
a) This instruction is part of the Mosaic Covenant, a contract that God made between himself and the Jewish people only. This is not an instruction for non-Jewish people, as both Old and New Testaments clearly indicate - repeatedly.
b) The Mosaic Covenant also **demands** that no one be executed unless they are first convicted in a formal legal proceeding by a duly-appointed judge. If a duly-appointed judge does not sentence a Sabbath-worker to death, killing that person is considered MURDER according to the Mosaic Covenant - and murder is a capital offense under that covenant.
So - why have you thrown out all of the Bible verses that are relevant to this particular Bible verse? Why do you imply that Christians do a thing that - in fact - YOU are doing?

The Bible in Romans 10:4, "For Christ is the end of the law, so that everyone exercising faith may have righteousness." The Law was given to the nation of Israel only, not Christian today. When Jesus was on earth he was ask what was the greatest commandment note the answer in Matthew 22:37-40, You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. the second, like it is this, you must love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments the whole Law hangs, and the prophets. Also John 13:35, says "By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves. So God will not kill you if you work on the sabbath because we are not under the Law.

Back then the Sabbath was on Saturday. It was observed by the Jews. Sunday became a day of rest for Christians because that is the day Christ rose again. The Jews still observe Saturday as the Sabbath.
Remember the Sabbath to keep it holy.

The issue with Scripture is that no person or church has the right to alter Scripture OR ITS APPLICATION. You are altering the application. This command is located within the confines of the old covenant; a legal contract between God and those Israelites, and that covenant came to an end. You cannot be held to the conditions of a covenant that you are not a party to, or a covenant that terminated.

Same ole same ole..... been ask about 1000000000 times in here and the answer is the same now as it as been all the other 1000's of times..... If you have NOT read the Bible, studied it, then it will NOT make sense to you... You can NOT *just read* it, you have to study it and that takes time, about 1 1/2 years to get through the WHOLE bible.... And then after having READ it, studied it, PAYED attention to what it SAID, you would know this : The *LAW* belongs to only ONE group of people....... guess who that is ????? go in peace.... God bless

These things are spiritual pictures about "grace and works". Those in Christ are commanded to rest and do no work for their salvation. Salvation is by GRACE! Not of works....if you work to earn it....even just a little bit....it's DEATH!
You see, Jesus Christ is the Sabbath....and if you are in the Sabbath/Jesus, you are commanded to rest from your works....or die.
All of the Bible is about Jesus Christ and Him crucified....the Gospel!

For what its worth, this is from the old testament so the sabbath being referred to would probably be Friday at sundown to Saturday at sundown, the Jewish sabbath. But as for your question, my guess is that its just trying to discourage working on the sabbath, and probably shouldn't be taken literally.

Really? Does it mean spiritual death, or physical death? Who is supposed to carry out said sentence, especially when "thou shalt not kill" is also a commandment?
Just asking.

He doesn't. Not everything in the Bible is meant literally, and not everything it says applies today. One can better know what verses in the Bible to take literally by praying the rosary every day.
