Do you think your own self interests are less important than the fiscal stability of the country?

If the Federal government wants to cut or eliminate a benefit, entitlement, or subsidy from which you directly benefit in order to reduce the Federal budget, would you agree to make that sacrifice?

I get nothing, so I would say yes. Those that get from everyone else, I hope you say yes, also. If not, we are surely doomed.

If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary.

They already have, I'm a S.S. recipient. If I felt they were putting that money to good use, I'd support it, but I don't think buying new buses and repairing roads, sending money to foreign countries that hate us and giving entitlements to illegals while opening our borders, is by any means helping to reduce our deficit. Why should I do without so my income tax dollars can support foreigners, while my children go into further debt because the deficit keeps growing? Are people really that blind? I'm really pissed off about what is happening, because it is B.S., and people who claim it is happening because of the deficit are liars. It is happening because Obama intends on bankrupting our economy by sending all our money out of the country and spending it on stupid stuff! You can't stimulate the economy by reducing the amount of money going into it and sending it to other countries.

The more taxes the govt takes, the more they spend.

The problem IS the govt and how they're spending our tax dollars.

Now if they made budget cuts or removed programs that helped to line a politicians pocket I would be all for it.

But to cut benefits to people on social security and the disabled only creates more of a hardship for them.

It does seem a good percentage on Medicare are opportunists and working the system.

That's why are medical costs are so expensive.

Hell, so much of the federal spending doesn't help us tax payers. My own self interests demand they cut spending, right now!

We give Egypt $1.5 billion each year so they can build up their military. Then we help build up the military for Israel. Now, Iraq and Afghanistan as well. Are we creating a stable future for our national interests, which should be our children? I fail to see how.

    Then let it be doomed.

I find your approach punitive to children who have no choice in the matter. Bobby or Sally have no recourse if mommy and daddy are pathetic losers. You have options available that a 5 year old, for example, does not.

You are right. It is going to take sacrifice across the board. It's easy to point fingers at the rich, or the politicians, but it is going to take personal sacrifice at all levels to fix the mess we're in now.
