Alissa defined the scriptures i became questioning of, yet once you do have the different questions, my e mail is often open to boot. we would desire to be doing our maximum suitable to be residing the commandments whilst in this existence. As for people who have not got the possibility to marry in this existence, there will be a fashion presented. i'm grateful that God is the decide human beings, and not different human beings, for we don't see what's in others hearts. Edit: i became taught to question, no longer only blindly settle for what i became advised. we are advised to desire with regards to the information and persist with from there. and not each and every little thing mentioned via the Prophet is Prophetic. ASK! is the biggest.

It should be reminded that Jesus did give Peter the power to bind and loose in Heaven or on Earth. It's part of that Priesthood authority. However, people are going to ended up being resurrected even with or without the support of their husband behind it. Christ has basically stated that all will rise, the just and the unjust. Mostly any priesthood authority that is exercised is generally under the direction of Christ, so pretty much any command that is given to rise is under Christ's command.

That is not something currently taught in the Church. The true doctrine is that all mankind, all who have been mortals here upon this earth, all will be resurrected, no exceptions.

Early church leaders, including Brigham Young, taught that at the time of the resurrection a priesthood holder might have the privilege of resurrecting his own family members, but it wasn't being claimed that he had to do it or it would not get done. Very much paraphrasing what some apparently said.

Jesus Christ is the one who makes possible the resurrection, and God brings forth each person in their right time, but if Christ wishes to share His blessing of bringing about the resurrection of our loved ones with us, why not? His ancient apostles performed miracles in His name, and resurrecting one's own wife and other family members would be like that, and a true bonding experience between a man and his wife and family.

Again, this is not currently a subject in our talks, lessons, etc. But as you ask it, it is an interesting idea. We just teach that through the atonement and resurrection of Christ, all will be resurrected. The righteous will be in the first resurrection, the evil in the last, but each one in the time appointed.

So, no, Mormon women are not thinking this, since very few have ever even heard it. Until now, maybe, as they wonder what you are talking about!

No that's not true, it's a distortion of our teachings, repeated by people who have been misinformed.

Another misconception people have is that a woman cannot enter the Celestial kingdom without a husband. In fact it is the opposite. A man is required to have a wife, but if a woman does not have the opportunity to marry in her earthly life, she will still have the opportunity to enter the Celestial kingdom.

The fact is that only God will judge who can enter the Celestial Kingdom, and we will still have our agency to make choices in Heaven just as we do here on earth, so nobody will force women to do anything against their will and Heaven will not be a miserable place for either gender.

Additional: To address this comment: "The real sexism in Mormonism is that all men are given the power of their 'priesthood' at age 12. Women never get it. Their ability to conceive and carry kids is supposed to be equal, and they are always at the behest of a man for its powers."

Men are also at the "behest" of other other priesthood holders to call on the power of the priesthood. A priesthood holder cannot give himself a blessing. He has to ask another priesthood holder for a blessing just as woman does. The blessings of the priesthood are equal. I would consider the real sexism is the attitude that many people have that being a mother is the least important achievement that a woman can have. It's because of women that men can exist at all.

Most LDS posters here are seemingly totally incapable of telling the truth. 2 Nephi 9:34 Btw, that passage doesn't say there is an exemption for 'lying for the Lord.'

When a man and woman go through the LDS temple for their endowments, each is given the secret male or female 'name of the day'. When they are sealed in marriage, the husband and wife are indeed told that in the resurrection, the husband will call his wife/wives from the grave by that temple name.

Why Mormons continue to lie on Yahoo Answers escapes me. Well, actually it doesn't. John 8:44

edit: oh yeah, and the thumbs down thing they do.... you can tell the accuracy of an answer to an LDS question by the number of thumbs downs it has. I finally figured out that they are pointing to where they are going to go when they die.

They have beliefs so extreme that even atheists often agree that they are not holding Christian beliefs.

Their religion revolves around men, which is unchristian. Women are not equal inheritors of the afterlife (unchristian) because the men become gods of their own Earths and the women become "Eves" that populate the earth. Women are clearly underneath men in Mormonism....

Not to mention they think God was once a man who turned into a God. That is umbilical as well(Christian God is genderless and was not a man).

It is clear that Mormonism came around the Era of Enlightenment. The Era of Enlightenment was when a big wave of science hit america and the idea of evolution came. You can hear, in their scriptures, how Mormonism was invented than. You hear them talk about Mormonism as an evolution.... that something can come from nothing. That man can evolve into God. That God himself was once a man who evolved. That husbands has to do the 'resurrecting'.

Clearly it is a false religion. It is so random and so horribly explained that you just know it is. It is completely made up. The only things that back it up is a weird man who reminds me of the "heavens gate" dude.

No. Men have no power to resurrect anybody. Only through Christ's atonement can someone be resurrected.

Think of it this way. Christ calls a man into the Highest Kingdom and tells him to call his wife. Do you think he'll say "no way, I'm going to lord it over her for a while." I don't think anyone in that mind frame would be allowed into the Highest Kingdom. Christ and God would not tolerate such behavior.

Notice many mormon women say no. Their husbands "don't call them when Christ comes back". This idea comes from a few vague statements of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young, etc.

The only one to call anyone out of a grave back into life is Jesus Christ. HE alone has the power of God, because He IS God. One of His many names is The Word of God. (notice, not "a" Word of God.) There's absolutely nothing in the bible that says men call their wives out of any graves.

And one gal said it correctly about single women, but not completely as typical. Yes, single women can enter the mormon's idea of their celestial kingdom/heaven pet doctrine. Only she doesn't get to become any kind of goddess for being so good all her life. That is reserved for married women alone. She's allowed to become a "ministering" angel along with the best of the single men (at least they are consistent there). Both can live as sinless a life as possible, and still, by being single will never make godhood in the convoluted mormon religion. They seldom reveal that little piece of theatre. Can't you tell why?

The first time a mormon couple attends the temple endowment ceremony he/she is given a new "name"...These will supposedly be their names in eternity, despite this never being a requirement of salvation. The wife must tell her husband her new name and no one else, as he is supposed to call her up in the Resurrection. If he does not call her up she would still resurrect, but not as his wife.

Their husbands are given the priviledge of calling them up. If he doesn't want to, HE is shown to a lesser heaven and the wife, if she is worthy, is called up by someone else, probably Jesus Himself.
