Why did God need a human sacrifice to grant forgiveness?

I am asking this in all seriousness. I have never from Sunday school til now thought this made sense. If he is the all knowing, all might why couldn't he just say "Ok, your forgiven"?

This is not being asked in just. I am truly interested in the answers.

Update:

@ I-o-d-it that doesn't make sense...So in effect Lucifer is the boss of God. Because God can't change his find on anything becasue that would prove that satan was right in saying God is not fair....

Update 2:

@ Anne - I understand that if you believe Jesus is God's son or God come to earth (concepts I also do not understand) that his blood is perfect and pure. But that still does not answer the question of why God NEEDED the blood. He could have simply said "If you are truely repentant (and he would know if you are, right?) I will forgive you".

Update 3:

@ gismoll - I care because if I am going to believe somthing I need to understand what I am believing. And because God said so is not a good explaination. I hope you can explain this better to your children...

Who on Earth can speak for God, who created the universe? But you would think such a God doesn't need any kind of sacrifice to grant forgiveness. He should be able to do it by just asking. So it's not that God needs anything from us, but we need it. It's a real event that gives us a dramatic symbol to remember how we are forgiven. Think about it. Do we really need ropes in stores so people won't cut in line when checking out? Do we really need laws that tells us not to text and drive? Do we really need laws that enforce parents to care for their children? It seems obvious. But apparently not since we have so many rules to control human behavior. Ever driven a car in a foreign country. Fortunately I didn't have to. When rules are more lax, driving is more erratic.

God doesn't need anything. But we need guidelines. God would just like shows of appreciation.

"The wages of sin is death" Romans 6:23

    1. God never changes

    2. His laws cannot change

    3. before the beginning of this world Lucifer claimed that God was not fair. (Read the book of Job in the Bible.)

    4. In order for God to prove Satan wrong His laws cannot be changed just to suit His whims.

    5. The sacrifice was not a "human" one. God himself, in human form, came and paid the price of our sins so that we could live forever with Him. John 3:16

    6. Back when Adam and Eve chose to sin Satan thought that he had "won" and that the humans would now have to die, just like himself, but God made a way that we could escape that fate if only we would choose to.

    7. Sin causes pain and suffering and a perfect world cannot have sin in it or it wouldn't be peaceful. The two cannot coexist for very long.

Good question. He is the All-Powerful. He could have just said, "Look, mankind, you are imperfect, and I know that. After all I am your creator. Despite my best effort, you still turned out flawed. I should have seen that coming. But, for whatever reason, I didn't. Okay, so, I guess I can take the the blame for that. Therefore, I FORGIVE YOU for being the imperfect beings you were created to be. There, I've said it. Now everything is okay. Go and Sin no more. Like, yeah, that's really going to happen!" And nobody would have to get nailed to anything!!

evaluate why a human existence became into required? It became into for Justice. Adam lost perfection and exceeded on sin to all the human race. To catch up on that, to purchase back humanity from that sin, yet another equivalent human existence became into needed. have been given any suited human beings mendacity around? in basic terms a suited human could do. equivalent to Adam. He and Jesus have been the only 2 in background so a ways. this is the only human sacrifice completed in God's plans.

It can be said that the value of the perfect blood of Jesus was equal to the perfect blood of Adam.

No descendant of Adam was perfect of course, and as imperfect, did not match the value of a perfect man, so none of Adam's descendants were worth enough to ransom mankind. So, God took his firstborn spirit Son, known as Jesus on earth, and put his life in Mary. Jesus was perfect. He could never get sick or if he had lived to old age, say a hundred, he would have still had a young body, like a 20 year old.

So, the idea is about perfect justice and perfect righteousness. I hope you understand.

There is a price for crime, and as a gift, our crimes have been paid for if we are obedient.

According to doctrine, sin is so abominable that it requires a sacrifice of blood to cover it from the eyes of god.

That said, if god created everything, then he created the rules that say 'Forgiveness requires a blood sacrifice.' Couldn't a god of love and wisdom come up with anything to better demonstrate his love and wisdom?

The anti Christ will also be in human form. It's fair. God is just. Human sacrifice and death with pure perfection. Jesus got through life without sinning once! He stayed in prayer often, and was tempted with everything we are tempted with. Think of sexual urges, money, power, etc. Jesus resisted temptation. He was the perfect sacrifice! And he died for our freedom, and possibility of everlasting life! Jesus set the example to humans.

Because human nature was involved. The original sin was between God and man only. But why are you so concerned about it? God did forgive the sin by assuming human flesh Himself as His way of saying "Ok, you are forgiven". God choose to do it this way just to show His real love for mankind; namely, God actually punished Himself in the process.

it had to be some one that was born under the old law and to be perfect in God sight, Jesus was the only one that could offer his life to take away the sins of the whole world never to see them again and God was satisfied with is offering. and he rose to life on the third day and that life that raised Jesus will raise anyone that come to God through faith in Jesus. it is all of Jesus works that bring life to the dead, his death his burial, his resurection, all we do is believe in his completed work and we will be raised together with Christ alive spiritualy = salvation 1 corinthians 15:3,4 1 john 5:11,13 LIFE

Further proof that the Christian God is evil.

If bible-god did make his existence known. I could not in all good conscience worship a being that is so morally abominable. I would rather live in revolt of such a psychotic megalomaniac than bow before it.
