Have you dropped your laptop? What brand is it?

I'm clumsy and drop my laptop a lot. I have a Toshiba but the hardware is going downhill. I've dropped it a lot, including it slamming shut as it falls. My son has also thrown up on it and I've spilled stuff on it. I know you're gonna say the hardware problems are my fault, which I know, but I don't want another Toshiba. I want another computer under $600 that will manage a few falls every once in a while.

What is your experience? Thanks!

I have Lenovo's at the school where i work and they are drop-proff. The teachers are always dropping them and they really hold up. One time a teacher broke a screen and IBM (Lenovo) fixed it free. Lenovo has excellent STATESIDE support and I would recommend them.

There is only ONE laptop that is built to be dropped.

    The Panasonic Tough Book.

Seriously. You will not find any other laptop built to withstand the abuse you describe.

Now, the fact that your Toshiba still functions after what you have put it through should tell you VOLUMES about how well built they are, as what you have done to it would have destroyed any other laptop (other than a Tough Book).

But if you really want a laptop you can throw 15 feet away in a parking lot and drive over with your car, then you need a Tough Book. Just don't choke on the price. You pay for that durability.

If you specified your desires with the laptop it would be easier to conduct research, hence here is a laptop I recommend: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Laptop+/+AMD+Turi...

HP laptop, 4GB RAM should suffice for running applications simultaneously, 320GB hard drive is spacious to store all of your relevant files such as games, music ,video, programs, and much more. A dual core processor for par-excellent performance, all the tasks will be divided correctly among the two cores, it's efficient. It's a lighter laptop so weight should not be a concern, a 4 hour battery life is decent when you want to be mobile.A wireless N card for full networking capabilities and speed depending on your internet service provider. I am curious to know, why purchase a laptop? A desktop is immobile and it's really difficult to dismantle for young children, and it's immobile so the internal components will not get tormented. A desktop is more powerful and it's quite easy to make hardware modifications. You need to protect your investment, care/maintenance is crucial all the best!

My older Acer is a tank, i've dropped it 3 times, and our 50lb puppy jumped on the keyboard when it on and being used, and half the keys came off and it still works great. Acer is my 2nd favorite laptop brand besides Apple.

in maximum circumstances, merchandise comes with a a million twelve months producer guarantee yet that could only conceal areas and tough artwork on defective products. regrettably this would possibly not conceal the computing gadget being dropped on the floor and broken because of the fact it wasn't the fault of the employer or producer and is rarely a defective product.

I've dropped my ACER at least twice, no damage at all. Sounds like you're really rough on your machine!
