why do some christians quote silly verses from the bible?

It impresses them . . they think it has MAGIC powers . . . cos they believe in woo woo stuff.

Depends on the question being asked.

If someone asks for proof that God is real, quoting the Bible will produce nothing other that giggling from the individual.

Now, if someone asks why we believe thus and so, quoting from the Bible is perfectly acceptable. It is not offered as proof the statement is true. It is offered as an explanation for our mindset.

If you are unable to discern the difference between these two, that is your problem.

If you have an issue with "silly verses from the Bible", perhaps you should stop asking Christians questions.

It's very silly to come to "Religion and Spirituality"

and then whinge and complain about Bible quotes.

You should stick with your comics and leave the

There are no "silly verses" from the Bible. The Bible is the inerrant word of God. The Bible has withstood the test of time and all challenges to its authenticity. The truth of God is not dependent on your belief (or rather disbelief) in it.

These silly verses are from God Himself! Just because you hate God does not invalidate the truth that the bible is from God!

SILLY WORDS? That is an amazing statement seeing all the things around us. For instance the stars, the blue sky, the many varieties of plants, animals, fish, insects, ect. and you say there is no evidence. Only a moron would say such a thing. Yes only a fool whose agenda is not to be subject to the God who gave him or her life. Only a moron would consider himself smarter and more wiser than the One who made and created all life.

The proof you seek is your own corruptness, your abominable works, your rebellion, and your witchcraft should be PROOF ENOUGH for you that God's word is true. He has your number, your address, and your life in His hands.

You say these are silly words when the deeds you do are so vile? That in its self is proof enough for any honest or sincere hearted person. Truly you are blind because your deeds are evil.

Isn't it absolutely hysterical how a book written thousands of years ago can have such pin-point precision of events unfolding to mature people who do not act like snot-nosed children pretending it isn't?

Because it is still true today, silly is not respecting other religion's right to believe what they accept as the truth .. or people that they don't believe
