Bred my lab Dec 14,2010... She does not look pg but acts pg and now her temp is 98, wondering if it is a?

Wondering if it is phantom or real. She has a large rib cage so they could be hiding and she is not eating as much. And yes I have an appointmet with my vet, I just want answers sooner :)

You bred her 8 weeks ago. What's the rush to get her to the vet? You've got almost a whole week left if she's pregnant. Yeesh - some people are just so overprotective of their pets

Uh.... UHave2Be? There are only 7 pages in the BYBs Bible.

Page 1 - how to frantically search for a last minute stud because your b*tch is in heat NOW (go straight to page 2 if you already have an intact male as a pet - breed unimportant)

Page 2 - Is my dog pregnat? Or what signs to look for the day after she was bred

Page 3 - How many babies will she have?

Page 4 - Birds do it - Bees do it - no reason to involve a vet

Page 5 - 101 reasons you're not responsible for dead puppies

Page 6 - 3 Top excuses for selling pups before they're old enough to vaccinate. "Mom died" "Mom won't take care of them" "mom ate 4 out of 6 puppies so we have to get rid of them"

Page 7 - Using alternate contact information and aliases so you can't be sued

Are we reading the same book?

You're right of course - 'Abridged Edition'. So what did they take out - 'How to use your profit to buy many more BYBing quality dogs'?

  • Honestly you have waited this long I say wait it out.

Vets are just out for money.

The fact is she is either pregnant or she is not pregnant.

    You will know soon.

According to the book that is considered the "bible" to backyard breeding -The Backyard Breeders manual- Page 64 Chapter 7 it says

"vet bills cut into the profit margin, try to avoid any vet visits so that you may reach the full potential of your profits"

    Just wait and see.

    Let nature take its course.

Animals have been having offspring without human interference forever.

ADD: ALESIS- What edition do you have? Perhaps mine is an earlier version from when people actually did read , and yours is newer for those with a busy life and short attention span?

ADD2- Alesis- There is even one newer then your Abridged edition for todays society-149 characters or less...and it says

Its gud 2 bread ur dog nd use it lyk an ATM

    Acts like a byb....sounds like a byb

BY GOLLY! IT IS A BACKYARD BREEDER.

Your ***** should have been to the vet WEEKS A ******* GO.

way to be irresponsible and then try covering it up with "I have an appointment with my vet'.

What no kudos for you? s2s you fail.

Here's hoping your ***** is not pregnant and you decided to be a good pet owner and stop breeding her.

Nobdody can answer that question here. The vet is the ONLY person who can answer this question competently.

You do not breed your pet quality lab. If you do, you do not come here for advice, go to the vet and while your there get your dog spayed and STOP BACK YARD BREEDING!!!!!

vet appointment shoulda been about mid-January to confirm pregnancy.. you'd know if she was pregnant or not then.

No one can confirm pregnancy over the internet.

Actually i had the same problem with my Pomeranian, she was bred, and her stomach didn't look that big, but her nipples got bigger, and started producing milk, and later you can feel your labs belly, not to hard but gently and see if u can feel little bodies, i did the same with my Pomeranian and i could feel them she was pregnant for about 68 days, since your dog is bigger this may differ.
