Algerbra and Fractions?

ok so i have a really hard sum it is:

a over 5 + 2a over 5. Please i need help. Could you explain how you figured it out and what steps i need to take. Also the value of "a" is not given

    A/5 + 2A/5 = 3A/5

    Its just like adding any fraction. If the denominators are equal then you can just add straight across, regardless of the value of a, because it is the same for both terms.

    a/5 + 2a/5 = 3a/5

    this is only an expression and not an equation so it has no solution.

    but if you're just asking how to simplify the said expression, here goes;

    ..........( a / 5 ) + ( 2a / 5 )

    ......= 3a / 5

    note : when you add fractions with the same denominator (the one below), just add the numerators (the ones above) and retain the denominator.

    when ever u have dis kind of equation in algebra fraction 5add2a/5d value of a in d equation is minus 5over 2
