Bruno Mars - Grenade - Worst lyrics ever in a song ?
I was listening to this song on the radio, and could not believe how terrible and nonsensical the lyrics were.
Especially the methods he proposes to show how much he cares about a woman he loves;
"I'd catch a grenade for you"
"Throw my hand on a blade for you"
"I'd jump in front of a train for you"
"Take a bullet straight through my brain"...
WHY ? To what end ?
I could understand lyrics like 'jumping ON a grenade for her' or 'taking a bullet FOR her' but his examples are essentially just ways to commit suicide, with no benefit to her whatsever...
However... the rest of the song is about how vile and horrible and unfeeling she is, but how he still loves her anyways; If she were as bad as "If my body was on fire, ooh you'd watch me burn down in flames" or "You'll smile in my face, then rip the brakes out of my car" then why hasn't she taken him up on one of his many offers to commit suicide for her... ? She is afterall apparently trying to kill him...
Then, of all things... the song ends with him merely repeating over and over she would never do the same. What SANE person would ?

Terrible lyrics... messes up the meaning of the song. :/

I truthfully don't like anything about the song...his voice, lyrics, etc. XD I'm just not into that kind of music. From what I've read...the lyrics are a little too over rated. I mean, atleast he isn't including sex constantly in his lyrics like every other artist and band is doing these days. It's getting very annoying...I am waiting for some unique stuff. That's my opinion.

OMG yes i HATE this song the lyrics are so cheesy (like all of his songs are) and the fact they play 24/7 isn't helping either

I HATE that song!!!! It is so overplayed and overrated. I mean why do people always listen to songs where all the lyrics sound the same: I would do anything for you, you broke my heart, etc.
It's all the same you'd think people would applaud someone who had the balls to come up with something original
