I know this may sound weird. I was playing pokemon platinum and some girl told me this.

The saying is speaking on two levels here. When you are physically weak you become spiritually stronger. When you are physically strong you become spiritually weaker.

Maybe that when you're weak there's a lit if room to get stronger or when you're strong there's a big fall ahead but personally I dont think that quote makes sense.
