How big a fish tank does my fish need?

He is a black moor with a body about as big as a small avocado. Maybe a good 3 inches in length(not counting his flowing tail length).

He's sharing a 60 gallon with tetras but I think he needs his own tank. He doesn't seem to mind the heater but I know this is not ideal for him so that's one reason. Another reason is he keeps digging up the plants out of the substrate so I plan to have his tank look more fun(artificial) and less natural.

So how many gallons do you think he needs?

20-30 gal (bigger is fine too) with filter rated for twice the tank size

20-30 gal should be fine, even gives him a bit of room to grow.

Goldfish are fine with low end tropical temperatures, but don't need a heater as they are just as happy at any sensible room temperature as well.

i'll say the bigger the better.....if you want your black moor to grow a couple more inches you have to give him more gallons of water maybe 30-40 gallons to grow, i'm sure he doesn't want to be lonely.

    enjoy :)
