Whats the difference between an electric an Acoustic guitar?-Guitar players :)?

I know the sounds are different and an Acoustic you can take it and play it anywhere while an electric, you have to plug it in.

But I mean, is there any difference in chords wise. Like, if you play for example, an A chord on an Acoustic is the fingering position different on an electric guitar or is it the same.

-I'm asking this because I just got an Acoustic guitar and i really want to learn how to play it but, a long time ago I was into the electric guitar so like a dummy I brought a Cd that teaches you how to play an electric guitar without never buying an electric guitar. So, my real question is that is it okay if I put on my "Learn how to play Electric guitar" CD and play it with an Acoustic Guitar. And still get the same results with my Acoustic guitar? Lol Thank you all so much!

-First that answer 10 quick easy points! Right away, because I'm stalking my question until someone answers lol

There's no literal difference- chords would be the same on either guitar. The only difference would be the style of music would differ with an accoustic guitar vs. an electric one. However, it is often encouraged to learn any song- ment of electric or not- on acoustic first, since it is more challenging. This will also help with finger dexterity. So yes, it is better to learn on an acoustic first- go ahead, use the electric CD.

there's a incredibly different technique difference, based on the forms of song that get performed on an electric powered vs the forms of song that get performed on acoustic guitars. in short, on electrics, this is much less complicated to go up and down the neck. On an acoustic, it regularly is extra good, so maximum chords are interior the 1st 5 frets, or people use capos. electric powered gamers tend to no longer use capos, they only flow the chords larger up on the neck, and the two barre them or use basically some strings to make the chords. this would be a generalization of course, and there are exceptions. you may notice each little thing the e book on electric powered guitar says to the acoustic, it in basic terms would notice much less especially matters. As different as those guitars look, it wasn't too lengthy in the past that the technique used on the two may well be interchangeable, using fact the electrical powered replaced into incredibly new. one element that has replaced : strings are lighter on electrics, and may well be bent somewhat. forget approximately approximately bending strings or doing vibrato on an acoustic - that's going to be too puzzling till you're an previous blues grasp.

everything is the same between an acoustic and electric guitar, besides the sound.

acoustics make sound by the sound waves bouncing around and out of the hole, and electrics have pickups that transfer sound waves into electronic impulses or whatever idk to run into an amp.

the chords, fingerings, everything mechanical is the same
