New Television signal reception?

I wish to purchase a new television for my Winnebago and I need to know about reception issues. Will the new T.V. pick up the digital signals the government imposed recently as a stand alone unit with antennae or do I need one of those digital boxes they made us switch to for aerial signal viewing

Any new TV you buy in the U.S. will have the necessary digital tuner. You don't need a converter.

A bigger challenge is TV reception in an RV. You can forget it while the vehicle is in motion, and each time you park and fire up the TV, you may have reception problems. Your antenna is the key to good reception, and that's a long story in itself. The short version: you need the best antenna you can rig up, and ideally, it needs to be pointed toward the TV transmission towers when you use it. You can get by with an omnidirectional antenna in strong signal areas, but that won't work once you're a good distance from the towers.
