sleeping arrangement ? for those with a toddler and infant?

they will be in the s ame room. my two year old sleeps in a bed and my infant will be in a crib. my three month old still sleeps in our room in his pack and play. when we put him in his crib, and cries in the middle of the night, he wakes up my older son. then we have to fight and get him back in the bed. so im wondering to any mommas out there who might have had this issue, how and when did you resolve it? my oldest one never slept in our room, but we were trying to give the oldest one a break since he is a light sleeper. so how long should i allow my youngest one to sleep in his pack an play in me and my husbands bedroom?

Try putting your infant's crib in your room first and letting him get used to it. It might be inconvenient, but if he's used to being in your room in the pack and play it might be just what he needs to transition. Once he can go down in his crib without crying for a couple of nights in a row, THEN move the crib to your son's room.

We kept my son in our bedroom until he was a year old. Now that he is almost 2 and will have a new sister any day now, we are planning on keeping her in our room for a year, and him in his own room. The toddler will be in his own bed soon, and the thought of him getting up and wandering around the crib where the infant is sleeping in the middle of the night isn't too comforting of a thought to me. He could throw something in the crib or poke the baby through the slats. Eep.

Most babies do not sleep through the night until they are at least 6 months old, if you can wait until you infant reaches 6 months you might not have this problem? It is recommended that an infant sleeps in the parents room until they are 6 months to reduce the risk of SIDS - so this could be a good guide.

I would get a crib & put it in your room the pack & play is probably becoming to uncomfortable to sleep in & I would wait until the baby is sleeping through the night before I tried to put him in the room with the toddler.

Our youngest slept in our room (the crib was next to our bed) until he was almost 1.
