Suggestions for yard trees...?
....preferably, the "canopy" type. I have a friend whose got a wide area in her backyard and would want to fill it with trees...fruit bearing and the ones with tops that spread out "like an umbrella". I would appreciate for some suggestions of a fast growing tree that would grow tall and with a canopy like branch spread. And can survive on rocky soil. I live in the tropics (Asia) by the way. Thanks

Usually the best thing to do is call a local garden center and ask them for advice. If that's not an option, find some trees in the area that you like and ask the homeowner about it. People are usually happy to talk about their landscaping and share with you what they know.
