Since the argument for teachers is how low their average pay is...?
Why are they defending the unions who waste 10's of millions in campaign's? They cannot all be liberals, so isn't that campaign money being used to only help the union?

Yeah you nailed it my friend.
Teachers make what, like $50,000 for half a year, which equates to almost 100k a year, plus another $50k in benefits, and they want more? All paid for by the taxpayers mind ya.
I think it's insanity.
I support what my Governor is doing here in Wisconsin. It's a move I don't think he wants to make, but it's what he was elected to do.

Well the unions are the teachers. So I guess if they want to waste money on themselves then that's their choice. But the benefits of unity and strength in numbers far outweighs the fact that some of the money may go to overhead.
But whoever said that teachers make 100k a year because they make 50k for a half of a year is an idiot and obviously has no clue as to what teachers make. They have three months of break including summer and winter break. And the only teachers that make 50k for 9 months are teachers who have been teaching for at least 10 years. (This is after they've gone to college for 5-6 years to get the masters degree they must have to even teach and paid for all their certifications and licenses). And many teacher starting pays are measly and can barely afford to pay their loans back while paying their other bills. And if they think teachers live such the high life and are so upset about it, maybe they should try and go live on a teachers salary for a while. And remember, teachers not only have to teach, but they are given the responsibility of looking after their children while you don't have to pay for a baby sitter. And the teachers don't have a choice who they have in their class. So imagine baby sitting 25-30 kids in one room all day, whilst trying to teach them. They should be paid even more in my opinion.

You need to factor in that they only work 8 months out of the year. They get two weeks off for Christmas, Easter ("spring break"), and work 8 months and 3 weeks.
Must be nice.
