difference between - 'remember meeting' and 'remember having met'?
Hi, could someone please explain the difference between these 2 forms.
I remember meeting her.
I remember having met her.
Is 'meeting' a gerund or are they both gerunds?
Thanks a lot in advance:))

"Having met" is a past gerund; "meeting" is a regular, plain gerund. They are both gerunds, and with this verb, "remember," both sentences mean the same thing; they both refer to a past event.
Most of the time the "having done that" construction isn't necessary for conveying time/tense, but it is an option.
