Where in the bible does it say that you have to accept jesus?

It says he dies for the sins of man, but where does it say that you have to accept him, or believe in him in order to be cleansed of sins by his sacrifice?

john 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

john 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

john 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

    The most obvious:

(John 3:16) “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.

    Some others:

(John 17:3) This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.

(1 Timothy 2:5) For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus,

(1 John 1:7) However, if we are walking in the light as he himself is in the light, we do have a sharing with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

(Ephesians 1:7) By means of him we have the release by ransom through the blood of that one, yes, the forgiveness of [our] trespasses, according to the riches of his undeserved kindness.

    That should do ya.

    Dear Friend,

Here is just one verse for you:

Acts 16:31 says, "And they said, Believe (which is the Greek word, G 4100) on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..." Notice that the word Believe in this context is capitalized (upper case). This that way for a reason. Because, the word 'believe' is not just "head knowledge." Anyone can have lips service and say they believe in something. Even demons believe in Jesus, but to 'believe' in this context is to entrust, have faith in Jesus...100%.

    Blessings to you...

John 14:6 Jesus said to him " I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man comes to the Father but by me." Romans 3:23 " For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans 6:23 "For the payment for sins is death." 2 Corinthians 5:19 " To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation."

2 Corinthians 5:21 For He hath made Him to be sin for us; who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved."

John 3:14-15 words of Jesus, "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man (Jesus) be lifted up: that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, (Jesus) that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

"Never did Allah take to Himself a son, and never was there with him any (other) god-- in that case would each god have certainly taken away what he created, and some of them would certainly have overpowered others; glory be to Allah above what they describe!"

And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah. That is their saying with their mouths. They imitate the saying of those who disbelieved of old. Allah (Himself) fighteth against them. How perverse are they! (30) They have taken as lords beside Allah their rabbis and their monks and the Messiah son of Mary, when they were bidden to worship only One God. There is no god save Him. Be He glorified from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)! (31) Fain would they put out the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah disdaineth (aught) save that He shall perfect His light, however much the disbelievers are averse. (32) He it is Who hath sent His messenger with the guidance and the Religion of Truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religion, however much the idolaters may be averse. (33) O ye who believe! Lo! many of the (Jewish) rabbis and the (Christian) monks devour the wealth of mankind wantonly and debar (men) from the way of Allah. They who hoard up gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah, unto them give tidings (O Muhammad) of a painful doom, (34)On the day when it will (all) be heated in the fire of hell, and their foreheads and their flanks and their backs will be branded therewith (and it will be said unto them): Here is that which ye hoarded for yourselves. Now taste of what ye used to hoard. (35” (From the quran)

Their apostles said: Is there doubt about Allah, the Maker of the heavens and the earth? He invites you to forgive you your faults and to respite you till an appointed term. They said: You are nothing but mortals like us; you wish to turn us away from what our fathers used to worship; bring us therefore some clear authority.”
